FAIRFIELD, CT — (From Spear-Miller Funeral Home): On June 16, 2021, Jennie Savona was called home to meet our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jennie was born in Brooklyn, NY in June 1944. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Vincent and her devoted children Frank Savona and his wife, Elizabeth of Basking Ridge, NJ and Angela Schlingheyde and her husband Keith, of Fairfield, CT. Jennie’s greatest joy was her grandchildren, Gavin, Katie, Emily and Drew who will miss their Nanny terribly.

Jennie was an exceptional woman, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Warmth and love emanated from her and all who had the privilege to know her, loved her. She was sweet, loving, unfailingly kind, but also witty and funny with a dry sense of humor. Her greatest loves were her family and travel.

Jennie was a travel consultant for over 30 years and she and Vincent traveled the world together, culminating with the trip of a lifetime in June 2018 to visit the Christian sites of Israel and Jordan.

We want to thank the exceptional medical team at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital, as well as the phenomenal nursing and hospice staff at Jewish Senior Services in Bridgeport, CT. Their unfailing care and kindness helped Jennie and her family during her final days. We are forever grateful.
