Obituary: Jennifer Lee Smith, 50; Formerly Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT ? (From Harding Funeral Home): Jennifer Lee Smith, 50, of Norwalk, passed away on December 22, 2023, after a 17-year battle with cancer. She was the wife of William Smith, and mother of Shelby Smith.

Jennifer was born March 17, 1973 in New Haven to Dale and Barbara Thomas. She was raised in Fairfield, graduated from Michigan State University, and most recently resided in Norwalk.

She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years, and she volunteered at numerous Dance recitals and shows that Shelby was participating in. She enjoyed going to antique shows, reading, crafting, and going to the beach. Her favorite place to go to the beach was Hilton Head Island S.C.

Jennifer is survived by her husband William Smith, daughter Shelby Smith, parents Dale and Barbara Thomas, brother Chris Thomas and his wife Erica, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home 210 Post Road East, Westport, CT on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. A memorial service for Jen will be held at a later date.
