Obituary: Richard William Soucy, 83, Of Fairfield
Soucy served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division.

Richard William Soucy, 83 of Fairfield, passed away peacefully with Gail, his wife of 58 years, by his side on Monday, June 7, 2021, at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Burlington, Vermont, on Oct. 13, 1937, Dick was the son of Marietta Elliott.
Dick graduated from Burlington High School and shortly thereafter, he became a proud member of the U.S. Army, where he served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, he worked for Sikorsky Aircraft. He then took a position at ABF Trucking where he retired as a supervisor in 2001.

Dick’s interests included gardening, word puzzles, traveling and spending time with his special buddy — his Boston terrier, Molly. He had many friends and a wonderful sense of humor.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Gail Soucy; his sister, Debbie LeFever of Pennsylvania, and several nieces and nephews, and many loving friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Marietta Elliott and her husband, James.

Friends are invited to honor Dick’s life at a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 160 Hill Farm Road in Fairfield. Inurnment with military honors will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Donations in Dick’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
