Out And About In Fairfield: Birdcraft Sanctuary
This week, Patch is spotlighting Fairfield's Birdcraft Sanctuary.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Looking for something fun to do with the family? Check out the Birdcraft Sanctuary in Fairfield.
Located just a few blocks from the heart of downtown Fairfield, the sanctuary grounds include a pond, gardens designed to attract birds and butterflies, as well as a museum and caretaker's cottage, according to the sanctuary website.
Maintained by the Sasqua Garden Club, the 6-acre sanctuary is open daily from dawn to dusk. The museum and cottage were the first headquarters for the Connecticut Audobon Society, and the sanctuary continues to be affiliated with the society.

While the sanctuary's museum, bridge and pavilion are currently closed, visitors can still enjoy this small slice of Connecticut's natural beauty.
