Pequot Library's Annual Summer Book Sale: The Pequot Library Book Sale kicks off at 9 a.m. Friday and continues through Tuesday, July 30. Over 140,000 books, CDs, DVDs, records, etc. will be available to purchase.
Friday Flix at the Fairfield Public Library: Kids in grades 3 - 5 can beat the heat at the Fairfield Public Library Friday -- a movie will be screened at 3:30 p.m.

Staples Players Present "Bye Bye Birdie": The Staples Players' rendition of the popular musical "Bye Bye Birdie" runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of this weekend. The cast is made up of high school and college students from Fairfield, Westport, Weston, and Trumbull. All shows take place at Staples High School in Westport.
Connecticut Wine Festival. The Connecticut Wine Festival takes place Friday and Saturday, with various wine tastings and events throughout the state.

Saturday, July 27
Fairfield Sidewalk Sale: Shopping, food, live music, and entertainment -- what more could you want on a Saturday? Fairfield's Sidewalk Sale event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Clam Dig: The Fairfield Shellfish Commission will host a clam dig event at Sasco Hill Beach on July 27 at 8:30 a.m. for local residents to learn about Fairfield’s natural shellfish resources. Rain date for the event is July 28 at 9:30 a.m.“This event provides an opportunity for Fairfield residents, including children, to experience the basics of harvesting shellfish while learning the importance of Fairfield’s natural shellfish ecosystem,” Sandy Wakeman, Chair of the Shellfish Commission, said.
