Pharmacy Closes In Downtown Fairfield

Prescriptions for the independent pharmacy's customers will be transferred to a nearby CVS.

FAIRFIELD, CT — An independent pharmacy in Fairfield closed this week.

Unity Pharmacy stopped serving customers Tuesday, according to a message on the door of the business at 1326 Post Road.

When reached by phone Thursday, owner Naga Mulpuri referred Patch to the signage in the store’s door and windows. Mulpuri told News 12 on Monday that changes in insurance reimbursements resulted in the business losing money.

Prescriptions for Unity Pharmacy customers in Fairfield will be confidentially transferred to the CVS Pharmacy at 698 Post Road, according to the storefront message.

The Unity Pharmacy in Bridgeport also closed Tuesday, according to News 12, which reported the business opened eight years ago.
