Police: Woman Assaulted, Strangled Outside Fairfield Diner

21-year-old man allegedly struck a woman several times in the head.

An East Hartford man is facing several charges following an early morning altercation outside of a Fairfield business. 

Julio DeLaRosa, 21, was charged with third-degree strangulation, third-degree assault and breach of peace on September 8 at approximately 3:26 a.m.

According to police, DeLaRosa entered into an argument with a woman outside the Athena Diner, 3350 Post Road, Fairfield, and forcibly struck the woman’s head against a vehicle and then struck her across the face.

The argument started earlier that morning at a club in Stamford, where the victim claimed she was also assaulted. The victim sustained visible injuries, according to police.

DeLaRosa was held on $500,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on September 9.
