Popular Deli Relocating To Fairfield After Fire In Bridgeport
The popular deli, which was forced to close after a fire in August, is reopening in a new location in Fairfield.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A popular Italian deli that was forced to close after a fire in Bridgeport is reopening at a new location in Fairfield this month. Sorrento Importing Co., which has been in business since 1966, closed after a fire at its Bridgeport location, 2487 Main Street, in August. The fire occurred in the third-level apartment above Sorrento’s.
Sorrento’s recently announced that it would be opening at a new location, 1838 Black Rock Turnpike, in Fairfield. A post on Facebook said that they would be opening in November, but a specific date wasn’t disclosed. To sign up for Fairfield breaking news alerts and more, click here.
“It’s been so much fun getting our new Fairfield digs ready!!,” Sorrento’s wrote in an update on Facebook on Wednesday. “So many friends have stopped by to visit. We are working so hard to get open ASAP so we can fill all the Porchetta orders.”
