Resident Extinguishes Fire At Fairfield Home
When firefighters arrived, the blaze had already been put out by a resident.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield resident extinguished a fire in the early morning hours Saturday as crews rushed to the scene.
Emergency personnel received a call just before 12:15 a.m. about the blaze at a home on First Street, according to a fire department news release. When the call came in, firefighters were already in the process of extinguishing a separate fire on Ruane Street, which injured one person and damaged three homes.
Firefighters from Fairfield and Bridgeport responded to First Street, but when they arrived, the fire had already been put out by a resident. Crews surveyed the scene to ensure the blaze was fully extinguished. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
