Road Closures, Parking Restrictions For Fairfield Parade

Here's what to know ahead of Monday's Memorial Day Parade, including the parade route and coronavirus protocols.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Memorial Day Parade is set to return Monday after it was canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This year's event will include pandemic protocols. If you are fully vaccinated, you do not have to wear a mask. Unvaccinated people should mask up.

The parade will move out at 10 a.m. sharp, marching east from South Pine Creek Road along Post Road to the library, south along Old Post Road to Flint’s Corner, and east along Old Post Road passing the Town Green and continuing beyond South Benson Road, according to information provided by Town Clerk Betsy Browne.

Anyone who throws items from the parade route will be ejected.

No traffic will be allowed after 9:30 a.m. along the parade route, on South Benson Road, or on Beach Road south of Post Road to Judson Road. No through traffic will be permitted after 9 a.m. on South Pine Creek Road.

No parking will be permitted in the following locations:

  • South Pine Creek Road to Bungalow Avenue;
  • East side of Reef Road from Oldfield Road to Crescent Road;
  • South Pine Creek Road from St. Anthony’s Church to Post Road.
