Robbery At Fairfield Gas Station Under Investigation: Police
A man entered the store, walked behind the counter, and ordered an employee to open the cash register and back away, according to police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred Sunday night at a Fairfield gas station, according to law enforcement.
An employee at the Cumberland Farms and Gulf gas station called police about 11:15 p.m. to report the robbery, law enforcement said. A man entered the store in the 900 block of Kings Highway East, walked behind the counter, and ordered the employee to open the cash register and back away, according to police.
The employee, whom the robber did not threaten and who did not see a weapon, complied with the demands, police said. Throughout the incident, the robber kept his right hand in his pocket, according to law enforcement. The man stole cash from the register and left on foot, heading south on Chambers Street, police said.

The employee was not injured, according to law enforcement, who said the robber escaped with about $200 in cash.
The employee described the robber as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and white or Hispanic, police said. The robber was wearing a black ski mask pulled over his head, a black short-sleeved shirt, gray sweatpants and black shoes, according to law enforcement.
