FAIRFIELD, CT — A cow on the lam kept Fairfield police busy in the early morning hours Saturday.

Emergency personnel received a call just after midnight about a cow in the road at Black Rock Turnpike and Congress Street, according to Lt. Antonio Granata. Officers, joined by the cow’s owner, pursued the animal, eventually corralling it in the 100 block of Fairland Drive, about 2 miles from the intersection where it was initially reported, Granata said.

Once corralled, the cow sat down and refused to move for over an hour, before it was finally returned to its owner in the 4000 block of Black Rock Turnpike, according to Granata.
