Santa Event In Fairfield Canceled Due To Coronavirus

Santa will not be coming to town Sunday, due to safety concerns related to the pandemic.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The annual Santa Visits Fairfield event has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to a news release from the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

“Santa Visits Fairfield is one of the long-standing traditions in Fairfield, historically held the Sunday after Thanksgiving,” chamber President Beverly Balaz said in the news release. “With a focus on safety first, we are sad that it cannot be held in 2020, but optimistically look forward to Santa arriving in 2021!”

The event, scheduled to take place last year at Sherman Green, was canceled then as well, due to concerns about hazardous weather.
