Sturges Ridge & Sacred Heart Theatre Announce Summer Movie Titles
Free Classic Summer Film Series for Seniors to Include Casablanca & Citizen Kane

Sturges Ridge of Fairfield, a Benchmark assisted living and Mind & Memory Care community, is helping seniors this summer reconnect to who and what matters most to them. Among the many complimentary events being offered by Sturges Ridge this summer are weekly Wednesday classic matinee films at the newly renovated Sacred Heart University Community Theatre.
The June and July line-up of films includes the following films from the 1940s to 1960s.
- June 30 – Casablanca starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman (1942)
- July 7 - To Kill a Mockingbird starring Gregory Peck (1962)
- July 14 – Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane (1941)
- July 21 - Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest starring Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint (1959)
- July 28 – Orson Welles’ Magnificent Ambersons (1942)
The series started last week and has already proved to be very popular. “It’s been exciting for us to replicate our in-house community movie theatre experience at such an iconic Fairfield landmark,” said Clare Scully, executive director of Sturges Ridge of Fairfield. “It was wonderful to see everyone reconnecting and reminiscing over these beloved films and we look forward to continuing the fun all summer long.”
