Teen Burglarized Vehicle; Fled Cops In Stolen Truck: Fairfield PD
He is accused of breaking into a vehicle and, on a separate occasion, fleeing officers and crashing a stolen truck, Fairfield police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport teen is due in court next month after he was accused of breaking into a vehicle in Fairfield and, on a separate occasion, fleeing police and crashing a stolen truck, according to law enforcement.
Christian Rivera-Hernandez, 19, of the 200 block of Anthony Street, was arrested Jan. 8 and charged with third-degree burglary, delivering drug paraphernalia, second-degree criminal mischief and attempted sixth-degree larceny, police said. About six weeks earlier, on Nov. 25, he was arrested and charged with third-degree larceny, interfering with police and plate misuse, according to law enforcement.
Officers were called just after 7 a.m. Jan. 8 by the owners of a home on Riverside Drive, who reported a man had smashed the window of their vehicle, which was parked on the road in front of the residence, police said. The homeowners saw a man leaning into the vehicle and then running away toward Route 1, according to police, who said the vehicle’s sunroof was pried and its passenger window was broken.

Law enforcement found Rivera-Hernandez nearby on Route 1, in possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as a screwdriver, a knife and two box cutters, according to police.
The charges from November came after Rivera-Hernandez refused to stop for state police while driving a stolen Ford F-150 on Interstate 95, choosing instead to take Exit 25, where Fairfield officers used a device to puncture one of his tires and he crashed into a parked vehicle while driving on the flat, according to police. He then fled on foot and was apprehended by law enforcement, police said. In addition to the new charges, he was served two warrants for first-degree failure to appear, according to police.
