Teen Charged After Credit Cards Stolen From Fairfield Vehicle

Multiple credit cards were stolen from an unlocked vehicle, police said, one of which was later used to make a nearly $600 purchase.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A New Haven teen faces charges after using a credit card that was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Fairfield, according to police.

Isaiah Richardson, 18, was arrested March 2 and is charged with credit card theft, illegal credit card use and fifth-degree larceny, police said.

Multiple credit cards were reported stolen in July 2020 by a resident of Osborne Place, according to police, who said one of the cards was then used to make a nearly $600 purchase at a Walgreens in New Haven. Law enforcement used surveillance video to identify Richardson and a warrant was issued for his arrest, police said.

Richardson has yet to enter a plea in the case, according to court records, which said his next court date is set for May 5. He remains in custody on $5,000 bond, court records said.
