Teen Crashes Into Pole, Taken To Hospital, Gets DUI: Fairfield PD
When her friend reached into the car to take the keys, she drove off, causing the friend to fall to the ground, Fairfield police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A New York teen is charged after she drove into a pole while drunk in Fairfield and had to go to the hospital, according to police.
Morgan Rogers, 19, of Lagrangeville, was arrested March 24 and charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility causing injury and driving in the wrong lane, police said.
Officers responded about 11:30 p.m. Jan. 29 to a crash in the 400 block of Jefferson Street involving a Subaru with heavy front-end damage that struck a utility pole, according to police. The driver, Rogers, was treated by first responders at the scene and transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, police said.

An investigation revealed Rogers had a blood-alcohol content of 0.17 at the time of the crash, according to police, who said minutes before Rogers hit the pole, a friend had tried to stop her from driving. When the friend reached into the car to take the keys, Rogers drove off, causing the woman to fall to the ground and hurt her elbow, police said.
Rogers is free on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned April 20, according to police.
