Tetreau and Traynor Address Chamber of Commerce
First Selectman and People's United Bank Chief Investment Officer Share Forecast for 2019
The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Economic Outlook on January 17, 2019 at Brooklawn Country Club. The program was introduced by Chamber Executive Director Beverly Balaz. Featured speakers were Fairfield First Selectman Michael Tetreau and People's United Bank Chief Investment Officer John S. Traynor. Over 100 guests attend the breakfast meeting including members of the Connecticut General Assembly delegation. State Representatives Cristin McCarthy Vahey and Brenda Kupchick and State Senator Tony Hwang presented Balaz with a state citation for her success in running the Chamber for the past five years.
First Selectman Tetreau stated that, while there are "some challenges ahead but Fairfield County and Fairfield, in particular, is growing in population. We're going to get more dollars for federal and state grants. We're going to grow our grand list and our commercial tax base. We're going to maintain the character and charm of our town. We're going to manage our expense growth and we're going to do all that to maintain the value and the affordability of our town. "
