Vaccine Megasites Closing In Fairfield, Bridgeport
Hartford HealthCare will pivot to microsites, such as urgent care centers and neighborhood clinics, to administer the coronavirus vaccine.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Hartford HealthCare is closing its vaccine megasites in the Fairfield area.
Wednesday is the last full day that the sites, which are affiliated with St. Vincent's Medical Center, were set to be open, according to a news release from the health care provider. The sites are located on Sacred Heart University's West Campus and at Central High School in Bridgeport.
Hartford HealthCare has administered 58,409 vaccine doses in the Fairfield region, fully vaccinating a total of 32,574 people.

With the megasites closing, Hartford HealthCare will pivot to microsites, such as urgent care centers and neighborhood vaccine clinics. Five urgent care center microsites in the Fairfield area are expected to be operational by early July.
The Pfizer vaccine will be administered on a walk-in basis at all locations.

The emergency department and the outpatient pharmacy at St. Vincent’s will also continue to offer vaccines to anyone aged 12 and older.
