Veterans Day Ceremony Scheduled In Fairfield

The annual Veterans Day Ceremony in Fairfield is sponsored by American Legion Posts 143 and 74.

FAIRFIELD, CT ? Fairfield's annual Veterans Day Ceremony, which is sponsored by American Legion Posts 143 and 74, is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, near the Veterans Wall of Honor on the Fairfield Town Green, 611 Old Post Road. The public is welcome to attend the ceremony.

The dress code for Veterans attending the ceremony is blue and gray and Post Commanders should bring unit colors and stand, according to officials.

Following the ceremony, the Eunice Dennis Burr Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will provide a light lunch for Veterans and their families
inside the Old Fairfield Academy, at 635 Old Post Road near the Old Town Hall. The Fairfield DAR is a volunteer women?s service organization that promotes patriotism, education, and historic preservation.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside the Old Academy.
