Woman Crashes Car Into McDonald's While On Drugs: Fairfield PD
None of the restaurant's workers or customers were hurt, but McDonald's property was damaged at a cost of about $150,000, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport woman was arrested Tuesday after driving a car into the side of a Fairfield McDonald’s last month while under the influence of cocaine and PCP, according to police.
Yazmin Masas Hechavarria is charged with driving under the influence of drugs, narcotics possession, failure to keep narcotics in their original container, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license, police said.
The charges stem from an incident around midnight Jan. 29, when law enforcement responded to McDonald’s, 536 Post Road, according to police. Hechavarria drove a Hyundai Accent across the median of the Post Road traffic circle, hitting the side of the restaurant, which was open at the time, police said.

None of the McDonald’s workers or customers were hurt, but Hechavarria was disoriented and suffered lacerations to her hands, according to police. Hechavarria and a passenger were treated by paramedics and taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, police said. The restaurant was damaged at a cost of about $150,000, according to police.
Inside the Hyundai, officers found cocaine, marijuana and pharmaceutical-grade narcotics, police said. An investigation revealed Hechavarria was under the influence of cocaine and PCP when the crash occurred, according to police.

A warrant was issued for Hechavarria's arrest, and she was taken into custody Tuesday in the parking lot of a Bridgeport gas station with help from Bridgeport police, Fairfield law enforcement said. Hechavarria had cocaine when she was searched Tuesday, and she was charged with an additional count of narcotics possession, police said.
Hechavarria’s bond was set at $30,000, according to police, who said her next court date is scheduled for March 16.
