Woman Forged Check To Steal Thousands From Fairfield Family: Cops
Five checks were stolen from a checkbook while the family was on vacation and having their home remodeled, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — An Ansonia woman is accused of stealing nearly $3,000 from a Fairfield family, according to police.
Kiana Pagan is charged with second-degree forgery and third-degree larceny, police said.
Officers were notified in August about the check fraud complaint that resulted in charges against Pagan, according to police. A Fairfield family had been contacted by their bank about a $2,800 check that was made out to Pagan and deposited into her account using a mobile device that had an IP address consistent with Pagan’s banking history, police said.

The victims confirmed the transaction was not valid, and determined that five checks were stolen from their checkbook while they were on vacation in July and their Fairview Drive home was being remodeled, according to police, who sought a warrant for Pagan’s arrest. She turned herself in Feb. 22, police said.
Pagan, 23, of Howard Avenue, has yet to enter a plea in the case and is next due in court April 22, according to court records. She is free on a $25,000 bond, court records said.
