Woman Hits Passenger On Public Bus, Police Called: Fairfield Cops

The woman boarded a Greater Bridgeport Transit bus and struck a fellow passenger, prompting the driver to call police, law enforcement said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield police were called Friday night after one woman hit another in the face on a public bus, according to law enforcement.

The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. near Post and Beach roads, police said. Lisette Hernandez, 38, of Bridgeport, boarded a Greater Bridgeport Transit bus and struck a fellow passenger, prompting the driver to call police, according to law enforcement. The victim, who was not injured, said she did not know Hernandez, according to police.

Hernandez was issued a misdemeanor summons for second-degree breach of peace and is set to appear in court March 10, according to police.

“Fortunately no one was injured in this incident, and we’d like to thank the GBTA employee who called police quickly to intervene,” Fairfield police Lt. Antonio Granata said in an email.
