The driver's blood alcohol content was three times over the legal limit, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A woman was taken to the hospital Thursday after her vehicle was struck by a driver whose blood alcohol content was three times over the legal limit, police said.
Garrett Jones, 64, of Fairfield, is charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility causing injury and failure to drive in the proper lane, according to police.
The crash occurred about 8 p.m. in front of a restaurant near Jones’ home in the 1000 block of Brooklawn Avenue, police said. A 48-year-old Bridgeport woman was driving south and stopped at the intersection of Suburban Avenue, when a blue Honda Civic that had been traveling east made a sharp left turn and hit the woman’s vehicle, according to police. The driver of the Civic — Jones — fled the scene, leaving the woman dizzy and in pain, and her vehicle disabled, police said.
