Woman Tried To Cash Forged Check At Bank Drive-Thru: Fairfield PD

Officers went to People's United Bank after a manager reported a woman trying to cash a fraudulent check for nearly $1,500, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport woman is accused of trying to cash a forged check for more than $1,000 at a Fairfield bank, according to police.

Carolyn Cook is charged with third-degree forgery and attempted fourth-degree larceny, police said.

Officers responded about 11 a.m. Thursday to People's United Bank, 1055 Post Road, after a manager at the business reported Cook was trying to cash the fraudulent check for nearly $1,500 at the drive-thru window without the account holder's authorization, according to police.

Cook, 55, was released on a promise to appear in court Feb. 16, police said.
