Authentic Polish, German Restaurant Delight Wish Ready To Open
Paul and Maggie Adamuzyk have been renovating the former animal hospital building in Channahon. Now, they are ready to open, April 24.

CHANNAHON, IL —In November 2017, Paul and Maggie Adamuzyk bought the former veterinary clinic along Route 6. Now, three-and-a-half years later, they are making their dream come true. At noon on Saturday, the Polish immigrants will open Delight Wish in Channahon.
Their restaurant is easy to find. It's between the Dollar General store and the River Hawk Brewery about a mile up the road from the Interstate 55 exit for Channahon at Route 6.
The coronavirus slowed efforts by the Channahon couple to open Delight Wish last year. But on a positive note, they managed to sell several hundred ethnic meals at the outdoor tent they set up in the parking lot in front of River Hawk Brewery on the weekends.

On Thursday afternoon, Patch's editor visited the soon-to-be opening Channahon restaurant. Patch asked Maggie Adamuzyk if she expected Delight Wish to be incredibly busy this weekend as word of the grand opening has been publicized on social media over the past few days.
"Hopefully," she answered. "I don't know what to say."

She emphasized that her husband will be cooking plenty of Polish style meals, but Polish food won't be the only European style meal offered at Delight Wish.
"This is not just Polish," she remarked. "It's European style, not just authentic Polish. Right now, our food is mainly Polish and German style, and we do everything from scratch."
She expected that Delight Wish will be offering several Italian dishes to the menu in time. Delight Wish also has a liquor license. As far as the beers, wines and liquors, "everything is imported from Europe from many different countries," she said.
