Channahon Police Dept. Collecting Candy For Troops Overseas

Have any leftover Halloween candy that you no longer want? If so, the Channahon Police Department will gladly take it off your hands.

CHANNAHON, IL - Have any leftover Halloween candy that you no longer want? If so, the Channahon Police Department will gladly take it off your hands.

According to the department, through Friday it's accepting candy donations to send to troops overseas as part of the nonprofit group, Operation Care Package.

Channahon school resource officer Mike Lazzari is spearheading the candy drive and had done so for about the last five years.

Donations can be brought to the police department no later than this Friday, Nov. 20. The police department is at 24555 S. Navajo Dr. in Channahon.

Note: Please no chocolate, as it won’t be able to make the trip, according to the police department.
