Channahon's Big Speedway Station Opens On Route 6
Channahon continues to draw lots of business expansion and developments to the growing community near Joliet.
CHANNAHON, IL —Over the past several months, thousands of Joliet-area motorists traveling along Route 6 noticed a new commercial construction project just down the road from the Interstate 55 exit. This week, the new Speedway gas station opened for business.
The new Speedway replaces the one on the opposite side of Route 6. The new one is also accessible for semi-trucks.
In 2020, the old Speedway gas station property is expected to be demolished, according to village officials. The new Speedway is about a mile down the road from the new Target distribution center that is about ready to open along Route 6, but within the city boundaries of Joliet.

And, by next fall, Channahon anticipates Amazon's new fulfillment center will open in their community, bringing several hundred new jobs to Channahon, employees who will be buying their fuel and snacks at the new Speedway, perhaps.
