Chicago Rush South hosting soccer camp with soccer pro
Camp for kids ages 3 and up will include a soccer professional from Scotland as an instructor.
MINOOKA — Chicago Rush South soccer club will host a summer soccer camp for kids ages 3 through high school from June 19 to 22.
Children enrolled in the camp will be taught age-appropriate skills by the club’s qualified trainers as well as professional soccer player David Galt from Scotland.
“We are very excited to announce this year we will be having a professional soccer player, David Galt, who plays for Queen’s Park FC in Glasgow, Scotland, attending,” said Frazer Galt, director of coaching for Chicago Rush South. “This is a great opportunity for athletes within the community to come to this camp and not only learn skills but get an idea of how to become a successful athlete.”

Frazer Galt said this summer’s camp will be the first for Chicago Rush South, and it will integrate the fundamentals of the game for young kids progressing into technical and tactical aspects for older kids all while creating a fun atmosphere.
The camp is open to all kids who want to learn more about soccer. Camp sessions are based on a child’s age, and cost varies based on age. Sessions will be held as follows:

- 3- and 4-year-olds will meet from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at Summit Park, 300 River’s Edge Drive in Minooka. Cost is $55.
- 5- and 6-year-olds will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. at Summit Park. Cost is $65.
- 7 to 10-year-olds will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. at Summit Park. Cost is $100.
- 11- to 14-year-olds will meet from noon to 2 p.m. at Summit Park. Cost is $100.
- High school girls will meet from 3 to 5 p.m. at Arbor Lake Park on Arbor Lake Drive in Minooka. Cost is $100.
- High school boys will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Arbor Lakes Park. Cost is $100.
All camp participants will receive a Chicago Rush T-shirt. Kids should bring a ball and water bottle and wear shin guards to each camp session.
