Forest Preserve Calendar Dogs Revealed, Order Deadline Extended
The calendar raises funds for the Will County Humane Society and features dozens of dogs frolicking at forest preserve dog parks.
Dogs that will grace the pages of a 2020 Forest Preserve District of Will County dog park calendar have been revealed and the deadline to place online orders has been extended to Nov. 6.
Featured dogs come from Bolingbrook, Crete, Joliet, Naperville, New Lenox, Mokena, Orland Park, Romeoville and Shorewood.
Proceeds from calendar sales benefit the Will County Humane Society. Each calendar costs $15, with approximately $10 from each sale going to the Humane Society. To order a calendar, visit willcountydogs.org by the Nov. 6 deadline. All orders will ship during the week of Nov. 25 to ensure receipt in time for the holidays.

A Bolingbrook dog was chosen for the cover of the calendar. With a tilt of his head and his tongue hanging out, Kane is pictured taking a break at Whalon Lake Dog Park in Naperville. The lab/border collie mix was adopted by owner Manuela Chairez when a coworker could no longer care for him.

January: Jericho, Kelly and Sean Bandzi, Mokena
February: Bella, Pam Bonk, Orland Park
March: Ruckus, Gaetano Pampinella, Romeoville
April: Wilson, Murphy and Rusty; Rob and Jodi Traver, Shorewood
May: Scout, Cindy McGee, Bolingbrook
June: Dougie, Matt and Tricia Domico, Orland Park
July: Stanley, Kelli Ferguson, Bolingbrook
August: Maslow and Carter; Jaclyn and Jesse Fleck, Naperville
September: Sasha, Kristin Wunderlich, Joliet
October: Gio, Rose Broderick, Crete
November: Ellie, Michelle Alfaro, Bolingbrook
December: Koda, Bridget Sonnemaker, New Lenox
The calendar includes dozens of photos of other dogs frolicking at the Forest Preserve District's six dog parks located in Crete Township, Homer Glen, Joliet, Naperville, Shorewood and Wilmington. In all, more than 40 dogs are featured in the calendar.
The calendar also profiles some of the dogs who have overcome obstacles to find their forever homes thanks to the Humane Society, the county's first no-kill shelter, which receives no state or federal funding and relies entirely on donations.
