Drive-Thru Coronavirus Testing Site Coming To Minooka

Testing will be provided at two drive-thru events in the Minooka area during the week of Thanksgiving.

MINOOKA, IL — With the holidays approaching and coronavirus rates rising across the country, vigilance and good hygiene are more important than ever. To help prevent spread of the virus, the State of Illinois this week is offering free drive-thru coronavirus testing at two events in Joliet and Minooka.

Starting on Monday, testing will be provided from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mission Boulevard Soccer Field in Joliet.

The testing event will continue through Sunday but will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. The soccer field is located at 640 Mission Boulevard in Joliet.

Another testing event will be offered on Saturday at the Minooka Community High School south campus from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Testing at both locations is provided free of charge, but those with health insurance must bring their insurance cards to the testing facility, the state said. The testing sites are open to anyone who hopes to get tested, regardless of residency, symptoms or ability to pay.

The state said test results will be given by phone with in 4 to 7 days.
