Grundy County Has Another Motorcycle Fatality
The crash victim was pronounced dead early Sunday morning, about four hours after his crash.

MORRIS, IL — The Grundy County Coroner’s Office announced that a 52-year-old man from Pontiac died early Sunday morning after being involved in a motorcycle crash about four hours earlier on East 29th Road near Seneca. After crashing his motorcycle around 9 p.m., Saturday, John Martinez was rushed by Seneca ambulance to the emergency room for Morris Hospital. He was pronounced dead around 1 a.m. Sunday, the coroner's office said.
"Preliminary investigation shows the decedent was traveling south on the north hill with a group of motorcycles," Grundy County Coroner John Callahan announced, "when for unknown reason (he) misjudged the curve and was ejected off his bike, landing down the ravine."
The motorcyclist's death remains under investigation by Callahan’s office and the Seneca Police Department, Callahan noted.

On Sept. 7, Patch reported the Grundy County Coroner's Office responded to a motorcycle fatality in Minooka that killed a 34-year-old Joliet man, Larry Walker.
Walker had been traveling with a group of motorcycle riders along the northbound stretch of McLinden Road and U.S. 6 and Walker accelerated and rode ahead of the other bikes, striking a van.
