I-55 Crash Prompts Lane Closure By Illinois State Police
The wreck happened near Channahon.

CHANNAHON, IL— Illinois State Police announced that a crash with serious injuries along Interstate 55 near Channahon Monday night has prompted police to close down the northbound lanes of divert as investigators and ambulance crews respond to the scene. Police made the announcement around 8 p.m.
ABC Channel 7 in Chicago broke the news of the crash, indicating it happened near the Bluff Road exit. The Illinois State Police also posted information on Twitter urging motorists to seek alternative routes as the investigation of the crash may take considerable time.
ISP District 5 is on the scene of a serious personal injury crash at Interstate 55 northbound milepost 247 (near Bluff Road). All northbound lanes are shutdown. Traffic is getting by on the right shoulder. Please seek an alternate route or slow down if in the area#ILTraffic
