I-80 Arrest: 3 Guns, $20,259 Cash, 103 Marijuana Pounds Seized
Illinois State Police arrested the 33-year-old Cleveland, Ohio man along the eastbound stretch of Interstate 80 near the Morris exit.
MORRIS, IL — The Illinois State Police District 5 announced the arrest of a 33-year-old Ohio man who police say had three guns including one stolen weapon, 103 pounds of marijuana and $20,259 cash inside his car when police pulled him over Tuesday along Interstate 80 near the Morris exit.
State Troopers hauled away Henry Umpierre of Cleveland, Ohio, in handcuffs and brought him to the Grundy County Jail in downtown Morris.
Umpierre has been charged with attempting to manufacture and deliver more than 5,000 grams of marijuana, attempted cannabis trafficking, possession of more than 5,000 grams of marijuana, conspiracy/possession of a gun by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen gun and armed violence, police said.

On Tuesday, an Illinois State Police trooper conducted a traffic stop that led to Umpierre's arrest after observing a traffic violation on Interstate 80 eastbound at milepost 112 just south of Division Street in Grundy County, state police announced.
Umpierre can regain his freedom if he posts 10 percent of his $150,000 bail, police reports show.
