Is It A Best Western? A Hampton Inn? No, It's A Hotel For Dogs

MINOOKA, IL — A stretch of Ridge Road from U.S. 52 toward Minooka is dominated by several miles of farmland, but this summer there's a large construction project underway that's unlike anything else along the route.

A hotel is being built.

A hotel? Yes, a hotel, but this hotel won't feature an indoor swimming pool, a sauna or a fitness room to exercise.

This hotel is being built for dogs and dogs only.

A large sign was recently erected along Ridge Road notifying passing motorists that a "Doggy Hotel And Daycare" is coming this fall.

The sign also indicates the new commercial property will feature retail space.

The construction project is taking place at the corner of Ridge and Bell Roads. The property is several miles outside the village limits for both Minooka and Shorewood.
