Kinzinger Fed Up With Trump's Election Conspiracy Theories

Kinzinger, who represents Illinois' 16th congressional district, blasted Trump in November, noting his loss was not orchestrated by the FBI.

In November, Kinzinger won a sixth term to Congress, capturing about 65.2 percent of the vote over his challenger from La Salle.

CHANNAHON, IL — Even though the majority of American voters rejected President Donald Trump at the ballot box Nov. 3 and did not want him in the White House for another four years, he continues to suggest the election was rigged against him, but that's nonsense, according to Channahon's U.S. Congressman Adam Kinzinger.

The Will County Republican congressman who just won re-election in November, unlike Trump, continues to take to Twitter to get his message to the masses. In recent days, Kinzinger made a number of bold Twitter posts that are unfavorable to Trump, but are gaining more national attention.

On Nov. 29, Kinzinger used his Twitter account to declare,"The @FBI did not rig the election. If you find yourself believing they did, please stop, and say it out loud, and you will realize how silly it sounds. @realDonaldTrump simply flooding the zone with baseless conspiracies."

On Monday, CNN took notice of Kinzinger's social media posts and invited the Republican on the air to talk about his problems with Trump.

The CNN report began by saying, "You've been very vocal, unusually vocal, almost uniquely vocal, as a Republican calling out efforts by President Trump and other Republicans, to overturn, in simplest words, the election results ... why are you taking such a forthright stand?"

Kinzinger said he didn't want to respond by sounding overly virtuous.

"This isn't about whether you like Donald Trump or you like his policies anymore. This is all about, are you undermining the very institution of a free and fair election that is so very important to the foundation of Democracy and to the survival of this Democracy that it is well worth putting everything online to tell the truth?"
