Love's, 3 Restaurants Nearly Done Southwest Of Joliet
Although the Love's Joliet project at Briggs Street remains on the back burner, the company is almost done with Interstate 55 construction.

CHANNAHON, IL — One of this summer's biggest commercial construction projects in the entire Joliet area isn't easily visible, but it's a huge project. A Love's Travel Stop is almost done being built at the Bluff Road Exit along Interstate 55 in Channahon.
The Love's will also include the addition of three fast-food restaurants, according to Mike Petrick, Channahon's director of community development and information systems.
The three new restaurants will be Arby's, Chester's Chicken and Godfather's Pizza, Petrick said. Love's representatives are hoping to open their new Channahon travel center in November.

"That's an important piece because it's going to serve the east side of that industrial park," Petrick told Patch's editor for Joliet and Channahon-Minooka.
The soon-to-be opening Love's Travel Stop is near Channahon's new Amazon warehouse at the corner of Exchange Boulevard.

It's one of two separate Amazon distribution centers opening in Channahon, Joliet's neighbor to the southwest. The second Amazon warehouse is being built up the road near the U.S. Route 6 exit for I-55. At that location, Amazon is hiring 1,000 full-time workers.
The Amazon plant at Exchange Boulevard near the future Love's is already operating.
Meanwhile, the Love's development planned for Joliet's east side has yet to begin construction.
In October 2018, the Joliet City Council, in a split decision, approved plans to build a Love's Travel Stop near the Briggs Street exit for Interstate 80. The Joliet project faced fierce opposition, led by former city councilman Warren Dorris, who had been trying to sell his house.
