Channahon Man With 2 Knives Threatens To Harm Others: Police
Channahon police say the 38-year-old resident has been taken to St. Joe's hospital in Joliet for a mental health evaluation.

CHANNAHON, IL — Channahon Police say a 38-year-old emotionally disturbed man holding two butcher knives was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after threatening to kill Channahon police officers.
Deputy Police Chief Adam Bogart said that officers responded to the house in the 24000 block of South Cardinal Drive around 12:40 p.m. The man was initially threatening to harm two other people inside his home, police said.
A Channahon officer who arrived at the house was "met with a highly agitated 38-year-old male in his driveway. The two other occupants fled from the home, toward officers," police announced.

The victims told police the man had threatened to harm them with two large butcher knives.
At the property on South Cardinal Drive, the man continued to yell at Channahon police,"at times telling officers they would have to kill him," Bogart's news release stated.

Eventually, an officer deployed his Taser, however, the man "defeated it and retreated into the residence," police said.
Channahon officers went inside the house and arrested the resident.
A Channahon Fire Protection ambulance brought the 38-year-old to AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet to undergo a mental health evaluation.
Police from Shorewood, Minooka, Joliet and Plainfield assisted Channahon on Tuesday afternoon's emergency call. The Channahon Police Department incident report classified the call as a "suicidal subject armed with knife."
Channahon's deputy chief said the man's two knives were recovered as evidence, and one officer suffered a minor injury during the arrest.
The Families of Faith Church in Channahon was placed on a short lockdown as the incident unfolded.
