Minooka Police Investigate Motorcycle Fatality
The Grundy County Coroner said the Joliet man was pronounced dead at the scene.

MINOOKA, IL —A 34-year-old Joliet man died in the Labor Day motorcycle crash with a van at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and McLinden Road. Grundy County Coroner John Callahan said Larry Walker was pronounced dead at the crash scene. Around 6 p.m. Walker had been traveling with a group of motorcycle riders along the northbound stretch of McLinden Road and Walker accelerated and rode ahead of the other bikes, the coroner said.
When the Joliet man approached the stop sign at McLinden and U.S. Route 6, Walker did not stop and "in doing so, he struck the side of the van that was traveling westbound on U.S. 6," Callahan noted. "Mr. Walker was thrown from his motorcycle ... he was wearing a helmet."
The fatality remains under investigation by the coroner's office and Minooka Police Department.
