Minooka Senior Named December Rotary Club Student of the Month

Madison Coybe maintains a 3.6 grade-point-average.

MINOOKA, IL — Minooka Community High School senior Madison Coyne, daughter of Scott and Jen Coyne of Minooka, has been named the Channahon-Minooka Rotary Club “Student of the Month” for December.

In the classroom, Madison maintains a 3.6 grade-point-average (on a 4.0 scale). She has also been named to the honor roll throughout her high school career, has earned the designation as a Scholar Athlete throughout her high school career, and has been recognized as a Student of the Term for the MCHS English Department, according to a news release from Minooka Central High School.

Outside the classroom, Madison is active with a variety of school teams and organizations, including Arrowettes, Indian Athletic Leadership Club, and Senior Class Committee.

Away from MCHS, Madison is active with Starr Dance Studio and is a volunteer for United Way of Will County.

“Service to our community is important because, in order for us all to be seen as a whole, we need to work together,” Madison said. “When we all contribute, we succeed as a whole.”

“High school students can make a difference in their schools by always trying to their fullest ability while still having fun,” she added. “Making a difference in the community can happen by working in community service groups and organizations.”

After graduation, Madison plans to attend the University of Iowa where she will major in biology in preparation for a career as a physician’s assistant.
