Minooka Woman Dies After U.S. 52 Rollover Crash

A Joliet teen was driving the other vehicle, police said.

MINOOKA, IL — A 27-year-old Minooka woman was ejected from a Jeep Wrangler and killed Monday following a rollover crash at 7:10 a.m. near U.S. 52 and County Line Road, according to the Illinois State Police. The driver of the other vehicle, a 17-year-old Joliet boy, has been cited for failure to yield at a stop sign to oncoming traffic, police said.

According to police, Matthew Ewert, 43, of Minooka was driving the 2018 Jeep Wrangler with two passengers, Leslie Quinn, 54, of Minooka and Paige Quinn, 27. The Minooka man's Jeep was headed eastbound along U.S. 52 while the Ford Escape driven by the Joliet teen was headed south on County Line Road and "failed to yield for oncoming traffic and entered the intersection.

"The front of the Ford struck the rear driver side of the Jeep causing the Jeep to overturn multiple times," police said.

Paige Quinn was ejected from the Jeep and she later died at a local hospital. The 17-year-old Joliet boy was traveling with a 14-year-old girl as his passenger, police said.
