New Polish Restaurant Sells Food Outside River Hawk Brewery

CHANNAHON, IL — A soon-to-be opening authentic Polish restaurant is cooking up Pierogi, Polish sausage and Schnitzel on the grill outside River Hawk Brewery in Channahon every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the end of October.

Paul Adamuzyk, owner of Delight Wish European Restaurant & Bakery, told Patch's editor that he is cooking his authentic Polish cuisine from noon to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays.

For more than a year, Adamuzyk has been renovating the former veterinary clinic building in Channahon next door to River Hawk. His new dine-in restaurant is not yet open, however, Adamuzyk is cooking on a large grill that he has set up underneath a tent in front of River Hawk Brewery.

On Friday afternoon, there was already a steady stream of people in line to order Polish sausage, Pierogi and the Schnitzel as well as a few other ethnic selections.

The owner of Delight Wish accepts cash or credit cards, he said.

If you're traveling from Joliet or getting off at the Channahon exit for Interstate 55, River Hawk Brewery is right past the Dollar General store.

Adamuzyk is a Polish immigrant who came to the Chicago area in 2003. He and his family now live in the Channahon area.
