Omega Plumbing: The Joliet Area’s Honest Plumber

Joliet, IL – Bob Fox knows a thing or two when it comes to plumbing – be it commercial or residential; after all, he’s the president of Joliet based Omega Plumbing. After having such a great experience with Omega Plumbing with several issues around my home in Channahon, I decided to sit down with Bob and learn more about his company. What’s better than a yelp review? For me, it's writing an article and learning more about an area business.

“Plumbing has really run in my veins ever since I could remember”, says Fox. It all began with Bob’s father who was also a plumber. “When I was a kid, my dad would have me help with tasks for customers and I really just became fascinated on all of the facets of plumbing. It’s really why I decided to become a plumber and start Omega Plumbing.”Indeed, Omega Plumbing has grown over the years from a small 2-man operation, to a 16-person organization. Recently, Omega Plumbing acquired Schmitz Brothers Plumbing, who was in operation for 16 years. “The acquisition of Schmitz was to help expand our offering in residential and to really increase our service offering”, according to Fox.

Omega Plumbing is divided into two practice groups: Residential and Commercial. In residential, Fox’s team handles anything from remodeling to basic repairs. “Whether it’s frozen pipes or new faucets to hot water heaters, there isn’t much we can’t handle.” In the commercial, space, Omega Plumbing can be seen all throughout Chicago. “We can do sewer video rodding, back-flow inspections, to major plumbing jobs for high rises.” Even more impressive is Omega’s stellar safety rating. The organization boasts a 0.87 EMR rating – which is exceptional for safety scores according to the Risk Management Society.

I also decided also take a dive into Google Reviews which can make or break an organization. For Omega Plumbing, it’s all 5 star reviews. According to one recent customer, “Complete, thorough understanding of our problem and how to best fix it for the long term. Meticulous attention to detail and workmanship.”

Having an honest and ethic plumber is one thing but having one that cares but the community and gives back is another. Bob Fox has donated a considerable amount of time, effort and resources to local charities and non-profits. “I’ve been a lucky person my entire life so giving back to the community is just something that comes naturally”, Fox says. "And frankly, it's just the right thing to do."

Finally, I asked Fox what his biggest key to success was. “Answer the phone and have fun. It’s a simple philosophy but one that has treated me exceptionally well over the years. If we are honest, ethical and thoughtful in the way that we treat our teammates and customers, we’ll keep having an organization that will continue to grow. My final key to success is do what’s in the customer’s best interest. If something looks like a simple fix, we’ll tell the customer that. If something falls outside of our wheelhouse, we’ll refer it elsewhere. We’re in this business for the long run – I’ll never lead my customers on the wrong path.
