Road Construction Planned In Channahon Near U.S. Route 6

Work is expected to begin as early as next week, Monday, Nov. 23 and will take about weeks to complete, village officials said.

CHANNAHON, IL — For drivers who travel down Thomas Dillon Drive often, starting next week they may want to choose a different route or plan accordingly when heading to their destination.

Thomas Dillon Drive, which is just north of U.S. Route. 6, will be reduced to one lane during daytime hours for construction of a watermain crossing, village officials said.

All lanes are planned to be open overnight with steel plating over work trenches. Work is expected to begin as early as next week, Monday, Nov. 23. The roadwork will take about two weeks to complete, village officials said.

To avoid commuting delays during construction, local traffic for residential subdivisions north of US Rt. 6 and east of I-55 are encouraged to use Patricia Lane, McDonald Drive, Carrie Avenue or McClintock Road to travel to and from U.S. Rt. 6.
