CHICAGO — Two new mass vaccination sites will open in Chicago on April 5 as the city moves into phase 1C of vaccine eligibility. Sites are planned for Chicago State University and the American Airlines Conference Center at Gallagher Way next to Wrigley Field.

“We are making progress toward our goal of vaccinating all Chicagoans, and we are very pleased to partner with Chicago State University, the Chicago Cubs and Advocate Aurora Health to bring lifesaving vaccines to our communities,” Mayor Lori Lightfoot said. “While the list of those eligible for the vaccine expands, vaccine supply and appointments are still limited and patience will be key.”

The city’s new mass vaccination site at Chicago State University, 9501 S. King Drive (95thh Street and King Drive) will be overseen by the Chicago Department of Public Health. The South Side site will be operated by the Community Organized Relief Effort and vaccine administered by Howard Brown Health. At full capacity, it will serve 1,200 walk-up and 1,000 drive-thru vaccination appointments a day. The site is by appointment only, there is no on-site registration.

The second site will be on the city’s North Side at the American Airline Conference next to Wrigley Field, 1101 S. Waveland Ave. The North Side site will be operated by Advocate Aurora Health, and is expected to administer 2,000 doses a day. The conference center will be by appointment only with no onsite registration. Hours of operation for the North Side site have not been announced.
