3 Illinois Cities Make List of Top 30 Murder Capitals in U.S.

A ranking by Neighborhood Scout crunched the latest crime statistics to determine which cities have the most murders per 1,000 people.

To do so, they used FBI data on the number of crimes reported in cities with populations of more than 25,000.

New Jersey had the most cities on the list of the "Top 30 Murder Capitals of America" with four, followed by Illinois which had three cities appear on the ranking.

Here are the three cities in Illinois that rank among the nation's Top 30 murder capitals, according to Neighborhood Scout's analysis.
