3 Metra Lines Delayed By Mechanical Issue At Union Station
The problem is disrupting service Monday evening along the transit agency's west and south/southwest lines

CHICAGO — A mechanical issue at Union Station on Monday evening has stopped inbound and outbound trains along three Metra lines, according to the transit agency. The affected routes include the Southwest Service, Heritage Corridor and BNSF Railway lines, Metra's website states.
The length of the delay isn't know, but Metra says they are extensive. Commuters should listen to platform announcements or check Metra's website.
Monday's problem was caused by a Southwest Service that encountered a mechanical failure and blocked all access to Union Station, ABC 7 Chicago reports.
