90 Degree Temps, Hot And Dry Weather For The Weekend

The first weekend of June looks to be hot and dry, with "mid-summer warmth," the weather service said.

ILLINOIS — Highs over 90 degrees and "mid-summer warmth" are expected this weekend, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Both Saturday and Sunday have expected highs of 93 degrees.

With the dry, hot weather, there is also an elevated fire weather risk near and north of Interstate 80 on Friday, according to the weather service. The dry and breezy conditions combined with the ongoing moderate to severe drought across northern Illinois will result in an elevated risk of more rapid fire spread, the weather service said.

Although the weekend will be dry, weather will turn more humid as the work week begins, according to the weather service. There will also be a chance of showers and thunderstorms next week.
