Advocate Christ Medical Center babies wear hats for Heart Month
Newborns receive red, crocheted hats to celebrate American Heart Month
Oak Lawn, Ill. – Babies at Advocate Christ Medical Center and Advocate Children’s Hospital will receive red crocheted hats during the month of February to celebrate American Heart Month and to raise awareness about heart disease and congenital heart defects through the American Heart Association’s Little Hats, Big Hearts program.
Advocate Christ Medical Center’s leadership is proud to once again partner with the American Heart Association on this initiative during American Heart Month and Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Month. Congenital heart defects, the most common kind of birth defect, are more common than some might think – 1 in 100 babies in the United States is born with a heart defect each year.
As a national leader in heart care, Advocate Children’s Heart Institute is an internationally recognized pediatric cardiovascular program and is one of the largest programs in the Midwest. The Institute specializes in pediatric cardiology and cardiovascular surgery and offers a complete continuum of care from fetus to adulthood.
