Big Star Wrigleyville Now Slinging Tacos
New location has a riff on nachos, TVs and a lot more seating

Big Star Wrigleyville is different in a few ways from its popular Wicker Park elder sibling. The space is much bigger at 9,000 square feet with two floors and an 80-seat patio. Nearly 300 people can fit in the new location within the Hotel Zachary right next to Wrigley Field. In keeping with baseball fervor of the community, Big Star Wrigleyville does have eight mounted TVs, but the One-Off Hospitality crew assure that the screens will be tucked away when the Cubs aren’t playing.
Otherwise, key features remain about the same like the food. Big Star’s Executive Chef and partner Paul Kahan and Chef de Cuisine Julie Warpinski brought over the street tacos with al pastor, baja fish and panza within tortillas made in-house, along with queso fundido and guacamole. New for the Wrigleyville menu is a cross between nachos and chilaquiles: the hot chips. Fried tortillas are coated in arbol salsa and topped with sour cream, radishes, onion and cilantro.
“I’ve always wanted to put nachos on the menu, but it never quite fit until now,” said Kahan in a release. “We’re using thicker chips made from El Popo tortillas, so they soak up just the right amount of salsa, you can eat them with a fork or dive right in nacho-style. I like to eat them topped with our Al Pastor.”

Margaritas with fresh lime alongside a lengthy bourbon list and cheap beer will also be offered.
If winter ever ends, siding on both floors will open to let the hopefully warm air enter, and the patio will open. Big Star Wrigleyville opens at 11:30 a.m. every day and 10 a.m. on game days. Look up Big Star on Facebook and Instagram.
